Change is Inevitable
Updated: Jun 5, 2023
It's been a minute since I put my words on paper. I wish I had a good excuse for not “showing up,” but in reality, life just got in the way. Who else is a recovering perfectionist and struggles with not feeling able to do things “exactly” as they should be? It's a daily struggle.
Change is inevitable. It's also something I struggle against. I like routine, for things to stay the same. The same thing at the same time with the same people. Hello, social anxiety. Anyone else? Sometimes change is slow and subtle; sometimes its loud and obtrusive. We've been in the latter stages lately. Admittedly, some of our changes have been self inflicted; others, not so much.
If I could tell you one thing about change, it would be to examine the things you control versus things that matter. Where those two things overlap? That's where you focus. Because, change is going to happen to you. There isn't a way around it. By narrowing your focus, you can continue to move forward in a productive way.

I'd be lying to you if I told you I didn't need some serious growth in this area. Just keeping it real.
In the words of Nido R. Qubein, "Change brings opportunity."
